Separate Palestinian groups claim Tel Aviv bombing

RAMALLAH, West Bank, Apr 17 (Reuters) Two Palestinian militant groups separately claimed responsibility for a suspected suicide bombing which killed at least five people in Tel Aviv today.

A member of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction, told Reuters by telephone that it had carried out the attack to avenge ''Israeli massacres committed against our people in Gaza''. Israel Radio said it had received a separate claim of responsibility from Islamic Jihad, another faction spearheading a more than 5-year-old Palestinian uprising.
