Senior TDP activists held

Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) Senior TDP Mlas T Devender Goud and Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy and several other TDP activists were arrested here when they tried to take out a procession in protest against the state government filing criminal cases against TDP MLAs fpr allegedly submiting forged documents on Sripada Sagar Irrigation Project.

As the activists after staging dharna in front of the Indira Park tried to proceed towards the Ambedkar Statue near the Tank Bund, police took them into custody and later released them.

Reports of the TDP resorting to the stir in other parts of the State, including Nellore, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram district, also came in.

In Srikalulam district, former Minister and TDP senior leader T Seetaram led the protest, while former Information Minister S Chandramohan Reddy led the agitation in Nellore.

In Khammam district, the TDP workers staged a novel agitation by sealing their mouth with Black Badge, in protest against the state Government ''stiffling'' the voice of the opposition .
