Security Printing Press to continue as public utility service
New Delhi, Apr 18: The Security Printing Press, Hyderabad will continue to be a public utility service for another six months from today, according to a notification of the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
The Security Printing Press was declared a public utility service under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for six months with effect from October 17, 2005.
The employees in this industry, as a result, would among other things be required to give notice to their employer six weeks in advance of proceeding on strike so that conciliatory proceedings could be started.
During the conciliatory proceedings and seven days after their completion, the employees cannot go on strike.
