Sahmat flays BJP activists for disrupting screening of Aamir's f

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) The Safdar Hashmi Trust today condemned the act of BJP activists in Gujarat of disrupting the screening of actor Aamir Khan's film 'Rang De Basanti' in protest against the actor lending his support to rehabilitation of oustees of the Sardar Sarovar Dam project.

Criticising the act of vandalism by the activists, the SAHMAT said,''Aamir Khan, in a very reasoned position, has asked for rehabilitation without taking a position on the height of the dam, which has to be taken in conformity with the decision of the Supreme Court.'' Expressing solidarity with the actor, SAHMAT expressed confidence that all efforts to bully him into resiling from his ''rational position'' would not succeed.
