Ramps at all TN polling stations: CEO

Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Arrangements were being made to provide ramps at all polling stations in the state, Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta said today.

In a release here, he said this was done following instructions from the Election Commission of India. The issue was discussed during the meeting with the District Election Officers.

It was also decided to shift the polling stations to the ground floor where necessary.

The EC had also proposed introduction of braille signage features in EVMs for the visually impaired voters in two Assembly constituencies in two states each. In Tamil Nadu, these constituencies will be in Chennai district.

The meeting held at State Secretariat here also reviewed the poll preparedness, including arrangments for training polling personnel.
