Barh, Apr 17 (UNI) The indefinite hunger strike by prisoners, lodged in Barh Sub-jail, in support of their ten point demands entered eighth day today.

Deputy Police Superintendent Shafiul Haque said here that several activities were hampered due to the agitation. He said police force had been deployed to maintain law and order situation near the jail.

Meanwhile, several of the agitating prisoners have gathered on the jail building's rooftop and shouting anti-administration slogans. A large number of relatives of some of the prisoners were seen throwing food grains, tied in cloths inside the jail.

The prisoners were agitating in support of their ten point demand including treatment facility for the ailing prisoners, proper arrangement of food, water and electricity, over crowding of the jail which had 500 prisoners against the capacity of 164.
