Polling proves allegations wrong : CPI

Kolkata, Apr 17 (UNI) CPI West Bengal State Council Secretary Manju Kumar Majumder today congratulated the people for a peaceful first phase polling and said the large turnout of voters proved wrong all complaints lodged with the Election Commission by the Opposition.

'' Through this peaceful polling, the voters have frustrated all efforts to pollute the state's tradition.They have also foiled the attempt to send a wrong signal to other states by imposing a five-phase polling, '' he said in a statement.

He said the people of West Bengal had proved that the way the EC had imposed restrictions were 'excessive and unnecesary'.
