Police avert militant attack in Bhaderwah

Jammu, Apr 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police today averted a militant attack on Sangali police post in Bhaderwah town of Doda district where by-election is to be held on April 24.

A group of militants fired at the Sangali police post during an election campaign in the Doda district this morning, according to sources.

Police retaliated but eventually the militants fled from the spot after nearly two hours of a gun-battle. The security arrangement has been beefed up in the area, sources added.

Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad is pitted against BJP's Kushol Kotwal for the Bhaderwah Assembly.
