Man killed in new Nepal anti-king protest

KATHMANDU, Apr 17 (Reuters) Nepali troops opened fire on anti-monarchy demonstrators in an eastern town today, killing at least one man, witnesses said.

They said the protest took place in the town of Nijgadh, about 200 km east of Kathmandu.

The man was the fifth person to be killed in a wave of anti- monarchy protests that have swept the country over the past 12 days.
