Jeev leaps to 195 in golf rankings

New Delhi, Apr 27 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh's triumph at the 1.8 million-dollar Volvo China Open has seen him leap from 319th to 195th in the latest Official World Golf Rankings issued today.

Jeev, who has also risen to the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit after taking home a prize money of 3,00,000 dollars, has 0.79 average points.

However, Jyoti Randjhawa, who missed the cut at the same tournament continues to remain the top ranked Indian golfer and moved up one spot to 112th spot with 1.22 average points.

Arjun Atwal (1.10) has also improved his standings, rising five places to 135th after finishing tied 17th at the 5.2 million dollar Heritage Classic in South Carolina.

Shiv Kapur (1.02) has also improved from last week's 146th, despite failing to make the Volvo China Open, to be at 145th this week.

Gaurav Ghei (0.37) and Amandeep Johl (0.27) are at 362 and 429 respectively.

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods entered his 387th week at the top of the rankings with 17.98 average points and his closest challenger continues to be Augusta Nationals winner Phil Mickelsen at the second spot with 10.07 avearge points.

Mickelsen replaced Fijian Vijay Singh last week, who has 8.73 average points. South Africans Retief Goosen and Ernie Els are fourth and fifth respectively.
