Israel's Olmert says weighing response to bombing

JERUSALEM, Apr 17 (Reuters) Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert today said that Israel was weighing its response to a Palestinian suicide bombing that killed at least five people in Tel Aviv.

''We will hold consultations and decide how to respond,'' Olmert told the parliamentary faction of his Kadima Party.

''We will know how to respond in the way and manner required, and we will continue to act with all means at our disposal to thwart futher such incidents,'' he said.

An Olmert spokesman said earlier that Israel held the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority responsible for the attack, though two other militant groups claimed responsibility.
