Intex looks to South for ramping up numbers

Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Intex Technologies (India) Limited, one of the leading players in computer peripherals, today unveiled plans to ramp up its business in South India to achieve a revenue target of Rs 70 crore during the current fiscal.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Narendra Bansal, Managing Director, Intex Technologies said during 2006-07, the company was targeting to generate 25 per cent of its revenues from South India to touch a total of Rs 70 crore as against last financial year's figure of Rs 43 crore.

The company had a portfolio of more than 250 products across 20 product categories with new models in subwoofers, DVD players, cabinets and TFT monitors.

The company also proposed to increase the number of distributors from the present 110 to 170, he said.

Intex had six branches in the South and proposed open more across nine more locations, including two each in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and three in Karnataka.
