India's Milkman Now Allahabad University Chancellor

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Dr Verghese Kurien, the man who led India's white revolution, has been appointed Chancellor of Allahabad University, it was announced today.

Dr Kurien is the first Chancellor to be appointed since AU regained its central university status last year.

He will have a five year term, a Human Resource Development Ministry statement said.

Until last year, the post was occupied by the State Governor.
