Hizbul denies publishing threatening posters in JK

Srinagar, Apr 17: The Hizbul Mujahideen, the single largest indigenous militant outfit operating in Jammu and Kashmir, has termed the publication of threatening posters in Sopore area of Baramulla district the ''handiwork of vested interests.'' A Hizb spokesman has expressed anguish over the publication of names of the people in the posters to a local news agency.

''Such acts are done to harass the freedom-loving people who have sacrificed for the movement,'' the spokesman said and warned against publishing of such posters.

National Conference (NC) president Omar Abdullah in a recent election meeting said anti-poll posters had come up at all the places where his party was in a strong position.

''Anti-election posters by the Hizbul Mujahideen were seen in many areas of Pattan. But, the Hizb later denied of such posters. We want to know who is behind this move,'' he had said.
