Chennai, Apr 17 (UNI) Opposing AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's 'autocratic' style of functioning, three former AIADMK Ministers today pledged support to the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) in the ensuing Assembly elections.
In a joint press conference here, the members of the erstwhile MGR Cabinet - K Rajaram, V V Swaminathan and K Raja Mohammad - said they would campaign for the victory of the DPA front in the state.
However, they would not join the DMK as their aim was ''to capture the AIADMK after Ms Jayalalithaa bites the dust at the hustings.'' 'We have every right to have a claim over the party as we were at the side of MGR when he founded the AIADMK,'' Mr Mohammed said.
''Welcoming the DMK's poll promise of distribution of free land to landless farmers and one kg of rice at Rs two, they said more number of AIADMK loyalists would soon join the DMK.
