Court extends remand till April 29

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) A metropolitan court today extended till April 29 the judicial custody of Abhishek Kasliwal, son of Shree Ram Mill owner, who was arrested on charge of rape on a 52-year-old woman at Worli in south-central Mumbai.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate P P Suroshe, at Bhoiwada court in south-central Mumbai, extended his judicial custody.

Abhishek (27), who was arrested in the wee hours on March 12 for allegedly raping a 52-year-old woman within the Shree Ram Mill compound, Worli in south-central Mumbai.

The accused is the son of Shree Ram Mills owner Ambuj Kasliwal, was arrested following a complaint lodged by a woman, hailing from Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, alleging that she was raped by him.

The victim, in her complaint had stated that she was waiting near the Jehangir art gallery in Colaba area for transportation to Mumbai Central railway station to catch a train to Naigaon at 0230 hrs on March 12 when she was offered lift by a man driving a car.

She alleged that instead of dropping her at Mumbai Central railway station, the accused took her to the Shree Ram mills premise in Worli and raped her.

He was booked under sections 376 (rape) and 325 (causing grievous injury) of the IPC and his Mercedes Benz car was seized.
