Congress expels rebel

Pondicherry, Apr 17 (UNI) Congress party today expelled Mr Rakshna Harikrishna who is contesting as a rebel candidate in Yanam constituency.

Disclosing this to newspersons here, PCC(I) President P Shanmugham warned the partymen filing nomintation against the offical party candidates that action would be taken against them for anti-party activity.

He said the DPA in Pondicherry was strong and a winning alliance.

AICC secretary Mr.Sudhakar Reddy who was also present claimed that a Congress led coailition government would be formed in Pondicherry while the DPA will come to power in Tamil Nadu.

He also appealed to all Congress rebel candidates to withdraw their nominations.

Mr Reddy said the AICC would invite Prime Minister Monmohan Singh and Party President Mrs Sonia Gandhi to visit Karaikal and Pondicherry for electioneering.
