CM and Speaker condemn terrorist attack on ex-speaker
Jammu, Apr 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad condemned the attack on former state Assembly speaker Ali Mohammed Naik by militants at Tral today, injuring him seriously.
Gen Sinha and Mr Azad described the attack as ''mere frustration of violence mongers'' who have been rejected by the people.
They prayed for Mr Naik's speedy recovery. The Chief Minister has directed the medical authorities to take proper care of the former Speaker.
Meanwhile, Speaker of state legislative Assembly Tara Chand too condemned the attack on Mr Naik, a former MP.
Mr Chand described the attack as a barbaric act by the ultras and said that nothing can be achieved by targeting innocent people.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Front has claimed responsibility for the attack.
