Chemists, druggists call off strike
Ranchi, Apr 17 (UNI) The Jharkhand Chemists and Druggists Association (JCDA) today called off their strike following a meeting with Finance Minister Raghubor Das here.
JCDA had launched an indefinite strike since mid-night last night throughout the state demanding taxation on Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of medicines as applicable in most of the states which have adopted Value Added Tax(VAT).
In the meeting, the government accepted the Association's demands and issued necessary order, JCDA General Secretary Amar Sinha said.
Jharkhand adopted VAT from April 1.
