Captain's 'ship' worth Rs 12.49 cr

Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, Apr 17 (UNI) Actor-politician Vijaykanth, who is making his debut in electoral politics from Vridhdhachalam constituency in the district, today declared he owned property worth about Rs 12.49 crore.

Vijaykanth, who filed his nomination papers for the May eight Assembly elections, declared in an affidavit that he had taken LIC policies worth Rs 35.22 lakh in his name, Rs 10.23 lakh in the name of his eldest son Vijay Prabhakar and Rs 4.82 lakh in the name of his wife Premalatha.

He owned land, worth about Rs 1.15 crore, at Cauvery Nagar in Chennai and another piece of land of equal value at Mela Veethi in Madurai.

Ms Premalatha also owned land valued at Rs 2.35 crore at Koyambedu in Chennai.

Besides, the actor owned three buildings at Kannamal Nagar and Abu Sali Street in the city worth Rs 2.05 crore.

Vijaykanth declared his share in the Andal Azhagar Kalyana Mandapam at Koyambedu in Chennai was worth about Rs 75 lakh. His other property were valued at Rs 1.64 crore.

He also had two Tempo Travellers, a Tata Safari, a Lancer, Ambassador and Hyundai Accent in his wife's name.
