London, Apr 17 (UNI) While England coach Duncan Fletcher is concerned about Andrew Flintoff being overburdened with captaincy but the man himself says he has thoroughly enjoyed the experience and is not averse to take up the responsibility on a full time basis in the near future.

''I would have liked to have been captain under different circumstances but it came along here and I enjoyed it,'' Flintoff was quoted as saying by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) website.

''The pressure of batting and bowling with captaincy as well has not been a burden - it is something I have enjoyed. Maybe further down the line it is something I would like to do but at the moment I have done this trip and I am waiting for Vaughanie to come back now,'' he added.

Flintoff had to take on the mantle of leading the side against India after both the regular captain Michael Vaughan and vice-captain Marcus Trescothick pulled out before the tour started.

And Flintoff said he was eagerly awaiting the return of Vaughan.

''Hopefully he (Vaughan) will be back sooner rather than later.

We don't know what the script is with him at this stage, we are waiting to find out,'' he said.

The talismanic allrounder led a depleted side -- after five of its frontline players were ruled out -- well in the Test series and played a crucial role in squaring it off after being 1-0 down.

Flintoff said his young and inexperienced team learnt a lot from playing against a formidable team like India.

''On these flat tracks against a good Indian side you do learn quite a bit,'' said Flintoff.

''Sometimes in England when you play on green seamers everything falls into place but when you play somewhere like this you learn a lot as cricketers and probably something about the rest of the side as well,'' he further added.

Flintoff also dismissed suggestions that England relied too much on him and said the success of the team depended on the joint effort of the 11 who played.

''When you look at last summer when we played Australia every Test match was a team effort,'' Flintoff responded adding, ''The one strength of this England side is that when we play well it is different people doing things.'' ''Somebody at certain times sticks their hand up and takes responsibility - I play my part within the side. So too do 10 others,'' he said.
