BJP demands UPA's stand on Hindu minority issue

Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) Responding to the UPA government's reported proposal of considering the Hindus as Minorities in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and the North Eastern states, BJP official Spokesperson Prakash Javdekar today demanded that the Centre must respond to the issue immediatley.

Addressing the press here, Mr Javdekar pointed out that the UPA government should express its view on considering the Hindus as minorities in the States where they were a minoirty in terms of population.

Neither supporting nor opposing the government's 'reported proposal' of considering Hindus as minorites, he alleged that 'the UPA government was practising minoritism in the counrty since it came to power which would hurt the nationalsim in future''.

He said the BJP would make its stand after the government responded.

Union minister for Minority affairs AR Antule had recently announced that the Centre proposed to consider Hindus as minorities in some states.
