Arab TV shows tape from purported Tel Aviv bomber
DUBAI, Apr 17 (Reuters) An Arab television station aired a video tape showing a militant from Palestinian radical group Islamic Jihad and said he carried out the suicide bombing in Tel Aviv today that killed eight people.
''We tell the criminal enemy that there are more martyrdom-seekers (suicide bombers), God willing,'' said the speaker, who appeared to be in his teens and who identified himself as Sami Salim, a ''son of the Quds Brigades'', the military wing of Islamic Jihad.
''We present this victory and martyrdom to the brave (Palestinian) captives ... from the Quds Brigades,'' he said. ''I give myself ... for the sake of God.'' The footage showed the militant standing in front of a banner carrying the logo of the radical group which has carried out several suicide bombings against Israelis.
The speaker read from a statement but the audio was mostly unclear. He was shown holding a sniper rifle at the beginning of the tape.
