Angry minister resigns

Pondicherry, Apr 17 (UNI) Pondicherry Local Administration minister A Ezhumalai resigned from his ministerial post this evening.

Mr Ezhumalai put in his papers to the Chief Minister's secretary.

It may be noted that Mr Ezhumalai could not contest on a Congress ticket from his Ossudu (sc) constituency as the seat was allotted to the DMK under the seat sharing agreement. Irked over this Mr Ezhumalai, after a meeting with his supporters yesterday had announced that he would contest as an Independent from the constituency.
