74 recruits from J

Srinagar, Apr 17 (UNI) As many as 74 recruits from Jammu and Kashmir out of the total 542 from the entire country were today inducted as constables into the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad took the salute of the passing out parade of recruits at the CRPF training centre in Humhama near here.

The recruits were imparted training in multifarious duties ranging from normal law and order to serious internal security problems such as secession and insurgency in different parts of the country.

The constables were also trained in adapting to operate in different environmental conditions.

During the one-year training programme, sufficient emphasis was also given on subjects such as law, human rights and police-public relations.

On successful completion of their basic training, these constables will be attached with various units of the CRPF deployed in several parts of the country.
