2 killed in blast, UNLF sec held
Imphal, Apr 16: Two persons were killed and one was injured in a bomb blast at Mualkawi village in Churachandpur district.
Police said here today that the blast occured near the BSF subsidiary training centre last night.
Police said K Samuel and Nangthian, both from Churachandpur, were killed. The injured person was rushed to Churachandpur district hospital.
Meanwhile, the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) finance secretary was apprehended earlier at Moreh in Chandel district near the Manipur-Myanmar border by 24 Assam Rifles, the PIB officials said.
Rifles, pistol, cordless phones, Rs 2 lakhs and some incriminating documents were recovered from him, they added.
In another incident, police said a cadre of Islamic National Front was held with a 9 mm pistol by Imphal West police and 22 Maratha Light Infantry.
