Tension following attack on DMK activist

Pondicherry, Apr 16 (UNI) Tension prevailed here as a group of DMK workers gathered infront of the government general hospital here following an attack on a party worker, allegedly by AIADMK activists.

According to police, Dhandapani, a DMK candidate who was the dummy for Party Convenor R V Janakiraman at the Nellithoppe Constituency, was attacked by a four-member gang said to be AIADMK workers.

Dhandapani was rushed to the government general hospital. On hearing the news, a large number of DMK workers gathered before the hospital.Police pacified and dispersed them.

Later, the DMK party leaders preferred a complaint with the Orleanpet Police Station after which a person was arrested.
