Six arrested on charges of betting ODI

Vijayawada, Apr 16: Six persons, including a railway police constable, were arrested while betting on the one-day international cricket match played between India and England in Indore, according to police.

Following a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid on a lodge in Governorpet and nabbed the accused. Three more persons involved in the racket were likely to be arrested in a day or two, they said.

Cash Rs 5,000, ten mobile phones and transaction records were seized from the accused, cases had been registered, police added.
