Jalandhar, Apr 16 (UNI) The national shooting team for the forthcoming two World Cups and two other international events will be started in New Delhi on April 21.
Mr TS Dhillon Deputy Inspector General CRPF and member of the slection committee told UNI here that the four member selection committee of the National Rifle Association of India NRAI would meet under the chairmanship of Mr Digvijay Singh on April 21 next to select the Indian squad.
He said the process of the selection is already in progress the first selection trials for both the men and women teams were held during the 4th Sardar Sajjan Singh Sethi Memorial Masters' Shooting Championship which concluded at PAP Shooting Ranger here on April 14.
The second selection trials were in progress at the PAP Shooting Range here today. Apart from the trials, the performance at the recent World Championship in China would also be considered during selection, Mr Dhillon said.
Star Indian shooters including Samresh Jung, Gagan Narang, Vijay Kumar, Pemba Tamang,Imran Hasan Khan, Ronak Pundit, Deepali Deshpande, Kuheli Gangulee have cleared preliminary selection trials.
