Sachin recovering well: BCCI

New Delhi, Apr 16 (UNI) Sachin Tendulkar has completed the first phase of his post-surgery recovery programme showing considerable improvement in the operated shoulder, the BCCI said today.

In a statement, board secretary Niranjan Shah said, ''Sachin continues to improve since his shoulder surgery and has advanced to this point of his recovery period with no setbacks.'' The little master was given a three-phase recovery programme by Team India physio John Gloster after undergoing surgery on the injured shoulder in London, which kept him out of the entire one-day series against England.

''The overall management of his problem has progressed as planned with improvements in all the areas assessed (ranges of movement, pain levels and dysfunction),'' the BCCI statement added.

Sachin will be reassessed again between April 20 and 21 before the commencement of the next phase of his rehabilitation programme. The time frame set for the recovery has remained unchanged and Sachin is likely to start batting practice by the beginning of the next month.
