Keep torch of high human values always lit:Azad

Jammu, Apr 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has called upon people to spread the message of peace and love while celebrating Easter as Jesus Christ always stood for love, peace, righteousness and mutual brotherhood.

Speaking at a function organised here today by All Jammu and Kashmir Catholic Sabha to celebrate Easter, Mr Azad stressed the need for imbibing the spirit of serving mankind irrespective of caste, creed and colour as taught by Jesus Christ.

He said Christ's teachings were always the guiding factor for mankind to create peaceful and disciplined social order.

Mankind would get always enlightened by Jesus Christ, while recalling his deepest service to human beings, and love for poor, downtrodden, needy, orphan and destitute, he added.

Mr Azad said that while celebrating Easter, ''we have to pledge to eradicate all evils from the society, make the country strong and spread the message of love everywhere''.
