"Hung assembly; BJP,Janata will be crucial for Govt formation"
Chennai, Apr 16 (UNI) Janata Party President Dr Subramanian Swamy today claimed that the May 8 elections would only throw up a hung assembly in Tamil Nadu.
Addressing a press conference here, Dr Swamy, whose party has entered into an alliance with the BJP and is contesting five seats, also claimed that the Janata Party and the BJP would play a key role in the formation of the next government in the state.
Neither the DMK nor the ruling AIADMK front would be able to get an absolute majority in the polls, he added.
Dr Swamy refuted the claim of Ms Jayalalithaa that Tamil Nadu was best administered under her tenure. A recent survey of National Council for Applied Economic Research revealed that food grains and kerosene, meant for public distribution system, wre diverted to open market, he charged.
The survey also pointed out that unemployment and poverty were very high in Tamil Nadu, he said.
He alleged that the family of former union minister late Murasoli Maran had amassed wealth disproportionate to known sources of income and demanded a CBI probe.
