Four people on pilgrimage were killed in road accident

Bangalore, Apr 16: Four persons, who were on pilgrimage to Dharmasthala and Subramanya in Dakshina Kannada district were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling hit a road-side tree near Ramasagara village in Hassan district at the Bangalore-Honnavar national highway in the wee hours today.

According to police, the ill-fated vehicle in which 13 persons were travelling was returning to Bangalore after a pilgrimage in Dakshina Kannada district.

The mishap occurred when the driver of the vehicle lost his control near a steep curve at the National highway 206 and hit the road-side tree.

While two persons wer killed on the spot, another two succumbed to injuries on their way to Bangalore. Immediately after receiving reports about the incident the top police officials from Arasikere and Tiptur rushed to the place and helped to rescue the victims, the sources said.
