Five people killed by lightning

Villuppuram, Tamil Nadu Apr 16 (UNI) Five people were struck dead by lightning in separate incidents in this district of Tamil Nadu overnight.

Police said the incidents occurred at Ayankunjalam, Koovadu, Raghuanthapuram, Baasar and Murugaipaadi villages.

The deceased were identified as Bhoomadevi (45), S Vellakkaran (55), Shanmugham (21), Shankar and Murugesan (50).

While Bhoomadevi, Shanmugham and Murugesan died while grazing the cattle, Shankar and Vellakkaran, took shelter at a place during rains when lightning struck them.
