EC removes two observers from West Bengal

Kolkata, Apr 16 (UNI) The Election Commission today removed from responsibility two election observers in West Bengal on the eve of tomorrow's first phase of polling.

Sources in the election office said the observers - Mr Ranjan Kumar and Dr S K Shakil Hussain - had been removed on the charge of visiting Ranchi and keeping the Commission in the dark.

While Mr Kumar was the observer for Kanksa in Bardhaman district, Dr Hussain was an expenditure observer for Asansol of the same district.
