Defence Ministry to implement e-governance: Minister

Hyderabad, Apr 16: Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today said the government proposed to implement e- governance in the Defence sector to speed up the activities of centrally-sponsored defence production units.

Launching The Indus Entrepeneurs (TiE) Semi-Conductor Special Interest Group (SIG) here, Mr Raju said the National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG) held discussions with the Defence Ministry on the implementation of smart governance in defence sector to help improve the quality of the products churned out by the units.

Though creation of assets was easy, sustaining them was a huge task, he said adding India should focus on increasing quality manpower and inculcation of high-end skills to meet the market requirements in future.

He also said private companies should also step up research and development in manufacturing sector.
