Decks cleared for Indo-Pak veteran series
Lahore, Apr 16 (UNI) Yesteryear stars of the likes of Kapil Dev and Azhar from India along side Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis from Pakistan will be seen in action when the veteran cricketers from both sides of the Line of Control assemble to rekindle the old flame of rivalry in the four-match ODI series beginning from April 23 in Karachi.
Decks were cleared for the series yesterday when the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave clearance for holding the matches.
A PCB official confirmed that NOC and clearance had been sought for the holding of the matches, the first of which will be played in Karachi on April 23, as scheduled. ''We have issued the NOC,'' the official was quoted as syaing by The News.
Among others to participate from Indian side are Ajay Jadeja and Manoj Prabhakar while the star attractions for Pakistan also include Rashid Latif, Moin Khan, Saeed Anwar and Aamer Sohail.
The organizers have also scheduled matches in Lahore, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura and are expecting to draw in big crowds.
