7 killed in road accidents

Bangalore, Apr 16 (UNI) Seven people were killed and three injured in separate road accidents in Karnataka today.

Four people on a pilgrimage to Dharmasthala and Subramanya in Dakshina Kannada district were killed when the vehicle in which they were travelling hit a road-side tree near Ramasagara village in Hassan district at the Bangalore-Honnavar national highway.

Police said the mishap occurred when the driver of the Bangalore-bound vehicle, carrying 13 people, lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve on National highway 206 and hit the tree.

In the other mishap, three people were killed and three injured when a speeding lorry fell into a river after colliding with an autorickshaw at Vasre in Byndoor police limits in Udupi district.

Police said the injured were admitted to a hospital.
