Water Police on anvil in Uttaranchal.
Dehradun, Apr 13(UNI) The Uttaranchal government has proposed a budget of Rs. 53,63000 to form a separate 'Jal police' to curb crimes in river areas and to save people from drowning.
According to official sources, 9 Head Constables, 30 constables and 9 motor boat drivers and 18 divers would be included.
To further enhance police mobility in Maoist and naxalite affected areas in the state, the state government has proposed to acquire 44 small vehicles and 203 motor cycles. It has also proposed establishment of Armed Police training centre and upgradation of 19 police stations costing Rs.2 crore 42 lakh.
