Two groups clash for water, seven injured

Ranchi, Apr 13 (UNI) Seven people, including two women were injured when two groups clashed for water in Koto village of Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand.

Swords, rods and sticks were used during the clash. Five people have been arrested in this connection.

Police said the PHED department had recently installed a water pump in the water starved village and a family living nearby locked its handle to prevent others from using it.

When some people opposed this move and tried to unlock the hand pump yesterday, the clash occurred. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital.
