Two drowned in Goa

Panaji, Apr 12 (UNI) Two officers of ''Top Security'' were drowned in Ragade River at Collem while one was rescued by villagers today.

Collem police said officers of Top Security from all over the country were in Goa for a conference that had commenced at Benaulim from April 10.

Taking a break today, the officers had organised a trek at Collem. Three of them waded in the shallow waters but were swept away into the deeper waters. Villagers managed to rescue one of them but the other two drowned.

The deceased were identifed as S Vijay Raghavan (32) and Betran Xavier (40).
