Receptions galore for Commonwealth medal winners

Imphal, Apr 13 (UNI) N Kunjarani Devi and L Monika, who won medals in weightlifting at the 18th Commonwealth Games had a tight schedule attending receptions today after coming here.

The Manipur Olympic Association, Manipur Weight Lifting Association, IG, Assam Rifles and other organisations organised series of receptions for the two medal winners.

Kunjarani and Renubala had got gold medals and Monika a silver medal. Only Kunjarani and Monika had come back yesterday. The team manager of Indian weightlifting contingent Sunil Elangbam, also from Manipur, was also present in the reception.

Kunjarani had come back to Manipur after four years and had a busy time meeting old friends and family members. During the series of receptions, which were still continuing, they were showered with praises for bringing laurels for the country by winning medals in the international sporting events.
