Rajkumar's eyes continue to sparkle
Bangalore, Apr 13 (UNI) Kannada thespian Rajkumar continues to see this world, with the successful transplant of his eyes today.
A 15-year-old boy and a 55-year-old man were the lucky donees of the celebrity's corneas at the Narayana Nethralaya here.
The Dadasaheb Phalke awardee's eyes were donated immediately after his death, following a cardiac arrest yesterday, in keeping with his pledge.
Dr K B Shetty of the hospital told UNI the teenager was suffering from Kerato Conus disease due to genetic problem and was blind in both the eyes, while the middle-aged man's one eye was damaged due to tocornea.
He, however, refused to disclose the names of the recipients, stating that it would be against rules.
