Hyderabad, April 13 (UNI)BJP National Secretary and former Union Minister Mr Bandaru Dattatreya today said his party was not obliged to express its opinion on the formation of a separate Telangana state to the three-member committee headed by Pranab Mukherjee in writing.

Reacting to the statement of Pranab Mukherjee that the committee would not take note of the recent line taken by BJP expressing support to the formation of Telangana state unless the party submit a letter to the committee, Mr Dattatreya said the committee had no legal sanctity.

Alleging that the Congress was adopting double standards with regard to Telangana, Mr Dattatreya challenged the UPA government to introduce a Bill in the Parliament if it was sincere about the formation of Telangana state.

He said his party would support the Bill if introduced.
