Parties appeal to support anti King movement

Kathmandu, Apr 13: The Seven-party alliance (SPA) of Nepal has appealed to people of all walks of life to participate in the anti King demonstration movement with more vigour and enthusiasm.

Encouraged by the overwhelming support of the government employees and the the private sectors the parties have requested them to support the movement and said they will be re-inducted in their respective jobs after the restoration of democracy, if fired by the present government.

Hospitals, nursing homes, health centres and health workers across the country are also requested to provide treatment free of cost, pledging that the government formed after the restoration of democracy would compensate any losses incurred.

Urging the security personnel not to suppress the peaceful demonstration, the leaders of the parties said, ''We direct our local committees to keep record of those coming to the forefront and suppress the movement and make the list public.'' ''We want to make it clear that strong action will be taken against those personnel, by the government formed after the restoration of democracy,'' they said.

The meeting has also decided to erect statues of those killed in the course of the movement, to make arrangements for education and employment of the family members of martyrs and to make necessary arrangement for those injured.

Four persons have been killed by the security persons during the last one week as thousands of people have come to the streets defying curfew across the country.

Meanwhile, Home ministry staff including the senior officials stopped work for two hours yesterday through pen down to protest government atrocity on peaceful demonstrators and to express solidarity with the ongoing people's movement for democracy.

Professional organisations including doctors, journalists, government employees, lawyers, teachers, federation of chamber and commerce have expressed their support for the movement.

Development workers including the foreign Non Governmental Organisations have also expressed their support for the movement.

''We want all the parties to the conflict to initiate the peace process. We want to see peace and development in Nepal,'' Eiichi Sadamatsu, Resident Representative of Save the Children, Japan, was quoted as saying.

Various organisations in tourism, hotel, trade and business including Trekking Agents Association, Airlines Oprators Association, Nepal Petroleum Dealers Association have also expressed their solidarity for the restoration of democracy in Nepal as the movement peaks to its height.
