New Air Force station at Thanjavur

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 13 (UNI) IAF Chief Air Chief Marshal S P Tyagi today said here a new base will be set up at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu.

Land had already been acquired for the purpose and the process was on, he told reporters after attending the Southern Air Command Station Commanders conference.

He said there was already a runway and the necessary infrastructure was being developed for the Air Station.

ACM Tyagi also pointed out that the IAF would cooperate with the Airport Authority of India so that public money was not wasted on constructing new runways.
