Neha Uberoi beaten in 2nd round of Charleston Cup
New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) US-based Neha Uberoi ran out of luck as ninth seeded Spaniard Anabel Medina handed her a straight set defeat in the second round of the Charleston Cup.
Neha, a wild card, tried her best but Anabel was just too good for her and the seeded player had little difficulty in chalking out a 6-3, 6-4 win in the 1,340,000 dollar tier I event.
Neha, sister of Indian Fed Cupper Shikha Uberoi, broke her opponent twice in the first set but was broken four times.
Besides, double faults -- four in the set -- at crucial junctures did her in and Anabel won the set in 37 minutes.
In the second set, Neha served better and broke Anabel once but the Spanird hit back, converting two break points and it took her one hour and 22 minutes to wrap up the match, according to information received here today.
Neha had shocked American Lisa Raymond 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in the first round.
