Minister charges TDP with misleading people
Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 13 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Minister for Major Irrigation Ponnala Lakshmaiah today charged the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with misleading the people by making baseless allegations on the irrigation projects taken up by the Congress Government.
Talking to media persons here, the Minister said the opposition was trying to create hurdles to irrigation projects by making corruption charges, as it was afraid of its own existence after the state became free of drought due to the projects.
He advised the TDP leaders to recollect the corruption during their regime and the irregularities committed by their own MLAs.
Mr Laksmaiah said while the state government was supplying power to the agriculture sector for seven hours a day, the TDP leaders were propagating that power was being supplied only for three hours.
The Minister also said while the government was implementing the best ever package of relief and rehabilitation for the displaced persons under the new irrigation projects, the Opposition was inciting the displaced to block the irrigation projects.
