Ranchi, Apr 13 (UNI) BJP national President Rajnath Singh today said mid-term Parliamentary polls could not be ruled out as the UPA government at the Centre had failed to 'rectify its wrong policies'.

''The BJP does not want mid-term polls. But it cannot be ruled out as the UPA government has not rectified its wrong policies. It is also not functioning in the right direction,'' Mr Singh told UNI before resuming the second leg of his Bharat Suraksha Yatra from here.

The UPA, he said, had also 'failed' to meet the expectations of the people and there were severe differences on various issues with the Left parties which might lead to the 'fall of the government any time' warranting mid-term polls.

Mr Singh also demanded dismissal of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh and imposition of President's rule, saying the situation had 'deteriorated considerably'.

''If the Mulayam Singh Yadav government continues, it will not be possible to hold free and fair Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh,'' he noted.

To a question, Mr Singh expressed confidence of fairing well in the just concluded Asom Assembly polls.
