MCX COMDEX up by 80.12points with weekly turnover of Rs 37,588.72 cr

Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) The week saw Multy commodity exchange (MCX) record the highest daily turnover of Rs.11,732.07 crore at the close of trading hours (11:30 hrs) today.

The previous highest turnover recorded was - Rs 11,626.33 crore on March 30. Meanwhile, the MCX Commodity index (COMDEX) was up 80.12 points during the course of the week; while MCX has recorded a total weekly turnover of Rs 37,588.72 crores for the period April 7, 2006 to April 12,2006, a release said. .

The MCX Metal Index and MCX Energy Index were up 119.52 points (4.79 per cent) and 93.95 points (3.62 per cent) respectively. MCX Agri Index was also up by 26.89 points (1.77 per cnet) MCX Gold (June 06) registered a turnover of Rs 15,458.26 crore while MCX Silver (May 06) registered Rs 15,506.99 crore.

The outstanding open interest for MCX Gold (June 06) was 10,055 kgs. The outstanding position for MCX Silver (May 06) for the week was 3,72,270 kgs, the release added.
